The September/October "Death In Art" SPOTLIGHT was excellent! It not only showed how artists
have fearlessly explored the subject of death, it made me want to search out the artwork myself.
This especially includes the film, "What Dreams May Come" which I have never seen. Thank you for
all you have given Artists Are Always Right readers up to now. I'm looking forward to future issues!

The "Death In Art" SPOTLIGHT is very good. How did you come up with the idea for it?

Jessica R.

(Editor's reply: As with every SPOTLIGHT, I trust my creative intuition and, of course, the Muses.)

I am amazed with how artists explore all facets of life, including death as featured in the
September/October issue.

You're right. The painting in the ON THE FRONT PAGE feature (September/October issue) is not
a fun day at the park! Thank God for artists who confront the fear and put things in perspective.
This includes you, Douglas.

I'm writing regarding your SPOTLIGHT titled, "Death In Art." Artists have always explored subjects
that most people would rather not think about. That's why artists are so special.

I never saw "What Dreams May Come" when it first came out. I don't even recall hearing about it
back then. I took your advice and gave it a try. Wow! It was excellent! Robin Williams and the entire
cast were great in it. Thank you for the recommendation.

I enjoy your journal very much. Because of all the details, I imagine that a lot of research is needed
for the SPOTLIGHT feature.

Samantha G.

(Editor's reply: Some require a considerable amount of research in putting them together. The "Death
In Art" SPOTLIGHT is such an example. Others, like the "Inside The Image" ones which feature my
own photography, do not. After all, I am well aware of everything associated with those images.)

I'm glad I found Artists Are Always Right. I demand quality in my own work as an artist, and I can see
that you do as well. I'll be subscribing and look forward to future issues.

When I first saw the topic of the SPOTLIGHT in the September/October issue, I thought...that's too
creepy. After checking it out, all I can say is...what an interesting SPOTLIGHT! I'm glad I read it!

Death may be scary, but so is life. What's the difference? Thanks for an excellent SPOTLIGHT in the
September/October issue!

I'm looking forward to your next Schwartz Shirts book. When will it become available?

Mark P.

(Editor's reply: We are currently in the process of getting it ready for publication. Barring any
complications, it should be available soon.)

Everything is getting more expensive these days. I'm surprised there isn't a charge for Artists Are
Always Right
.

Pat A.

(Editor's reply: We could charge a fee of some sort, but prefer to keep things the way they are.)

The subject of death can be frightening, but your essay in the September/October issue was very
sensitive and enlightening.
